About us

Tokyo Kagurazaka Law Office is a unique law firm in Japan that specializes in legal issues faced by doctors, medical institutions, medical societies, and university medical departments. We also conduct research on expert academic papers in the fields of medicine, forensic medicine, and forensic science worldwide, providing highly specialized knowledge.

The cases we handle are diverse. Not only do we handle family matters, debt collection, intellectual property, and criminal cases, but also cases related to medical care.
　In Japan, we have acted as defense counsel in a case in which it was disputed whether a doctor had sexually indecently assaulted a postoperative patient or whether the patient's experience of victimization was a hallucination caused by the patient's delirium.
　We are also involved in medical and legal research, studying Japan's unique "duty to respond" (a doctor's obligation not to refuse a patient's request for treatment without reasonable cause) and reviewing court cases related to Wernicke's encephalopathy.
　Our office bridges medicine and law, practice and theoretical research.
